MY REVIEW – 5 STARS!

With every new release, I say I have a new favorite. But Lynn’s book? Just wow! I’ll be re-reading this one multiple times.

While the book does have intrigue like all Lani Lynn Vale books, this one seemed lighter and more focused on their relationship. It wasn’t a bad thing. The main conflict is left unresolved, but the story didn’t feel unfinished. You still get a happily-ever-after, the super hot sex, and alpha male yumminess.

Six was feisty, unique, and a truly awesome main character. Despite the age difference, she was perfect for Lynn. Their interactions are what made the book truly amazing.

And Lynnwood… (sigh) best book hero ever! All alpha, and a true badass. Despite his skills at interrogation and torture, when it came to Six, Laric, and Bruno we got to see the gentler side of him. He was the perfect mix of kind and deadly to make him a swoon worthy hero.

I can’t wait to read the next book. Ms. Vale’s writing just seems to get even better with every book.

“I didn’t intend to frighten you,” he adds. I comprehend that he’s not talking about tonight, but I don’t say anything to absolve him. I do, however, feel my breathing settle.

“Eli was looking for you. Said you’ve been MIA lately.”

“Roger. I’ll get back to him.”

If that’s not an evasion, then I don’t know what is. Now that I’m calm enough to look closer, I grasp how haggard Cullen is, his piercing moss-green eyes rimmed with circles of fatigue. Sweat soaks the fabric of his shirt, which clings to chiseled muscle. It’s near one in the morning, and Cullen’s been working out. From the pale tint to his skin, it was punishing work too, not a light jog. Almost against my better judgment, I find myself edging closer to him. “Are you all right?”

“Always.”

“I’d have thought you were a better liar than that.”

I touch his arm, discovering the muscles coiled tightly beneath his skin. As if he hasn’t relaxed in hours. Days.

“When did you sleep last, exactly?”

He shrugs a shoulder, scrutinizing my hand on his arm as if it’s the most fascinating spectacle he’s ever witnessed. “Why not?”

I hear my tone shifting, something inside me switching from prey mode into my professional skin. Investigative journalism isn’t all that different from medicine in some regard, working through layers of information to get to the truth.

“Can’t.”

“When’s the last time you ate? ” I demand, getting another shrug in return.

“Today?”

“Can we go back to the version of the evening where you’re scared of me and on your way out?”

He is only half kidding. I huff. Releasing Cullen’s arm, I raid the mini fridge that’s kept in the dispatch office, which is full of juice boxes and applesauce cups for patients. Kicking one of the wheeled chairs over to Cullen, I hand him both the items.

“Drink. Eat.”

“Those are for patients,” he argues, but does take the offered chair.

“I’m fine.”

“You look like hammered dog shit, Cullen. Eat the food.”

With an exasperated sigh, he pops open the apple sauce. Within two seconds, he’s inhaled the small jar and accepts another two from me without protest, color returning to him with the intake of sugar. It’s unexpectedly satisfying.

The warmth of a holiday romance with the suspense and heat you’d expect from a Lani Lynn Vale book … Depends on Who’s Asking is a must read!

Saint isn’t who he seems, but he has his reasons for keeping his distance. When his past comes knocking, and Caro is put in harms way, he knows it’s time to stop hiding. And let me say I never saw this one coming! I hate spoilers, so I won’t divulge more, but be prepared for a bumpy ride. Saint is a bit like Clark Kent and Superman. Which side of him will you fall for?

Caro fell for Saint the moment she met him, so being stuck in quarantine with him isn’t so horrible—once she realizes he likes her too. It’s what happens after that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Romance. Intrigue. Action. And lots of heat… what more could you want in a holiday read?

Every time I think Lani Lynn Vale can’t write a better book than the last, she proves me wrong. Nobody Knows has quickly moved into the #1 slot on my favorites list.

Malachi has been such a mystery. While Ms. Vale doesn’t go into detail of all that he suffered while he was a POW, she gives us just enough to understand his mindset and appreciate even more his connection with Sierra. He’s all alpha, but not without his own weaknesses that make him human. I adored his character and loved getting a better look at who he really is instead of the quick glances we’ve had in the past.

Sierra is the perfect contradiction of strong yet soft. When it comes to her family, she’s often done what she felt was best for them. Even if it means lying about her boyfriend. But seeing her take a stand, do what she feels is right for her, and sticking to it even when her family seems to turn their backs on her made me want to cheer her on!

Malachi and Sierra have off the charts chemistry, but their relationship is so much more. This was a perfect friends-to-lovers tale with all the gooey moments that make you smile. As is typical of any Lani Lynn Vale book, you don’t just get romance. Be prepared for lots of drama!

With enemies coming from both sides, Malachi and Sierra need each other more than ever. I flipped the pages, devouring every word, anxious to see what happened next — only to be deeply saddened when the book came to an end (because I wanted more!).

Well done, Ms. Vale! You’ve written another winner! I can’t wait to read the next book.
