Calling All Readers…

I’m at the point where I have several active series, and just not enough of me to go around for the remainder of the year. That’s not to say the lower ranking series won’t be finished, they just may be postponed until next year.

For those of you familiar with my books, I’d love to know what you think. Which series is your favorite, which genre you prefer, and if you’re a Sci-fi reader, which type of alien you like best. It’s only three short questions, and your opinion would mean so much to me.

EXCERPT

Bringing Bellamy flowers was a little awkward with such a large audience. All of her sisters were present, along with a handful of other raven shifters. If this didn’t go well, he’d be the laughingstock of the community for weeks to come. He only had to hope that she’d felt something the other day, too. He thought he’d caught a flash of something in her eyes as she’d looked at him, but he might’ve been wrong. There was only one way to find out. Man up and approach her.

As he neared the small group huddled around his target, the talking died down to a minimum. The young shifter behind Bellamy narrowed his eyes and set his jaw, clearly wanting to stake his claim. Seaton wondered just how close the two were. Did he have real competition there? Or was the young man just fantasizing? Getting a good look at him, he realized it was Rio, a raven known for his penchant of getting into trouble. He had to be a few years younger than Bellamy, didn’t he? She seemed older, anyway. Not that her age mattered one whit to Seaton.

He paused beside her chair and waited until he had her attention. When she looked up at him, he presented her with the bouquet he’d picked up on his way over. Her smile lit up her face as she accepted the blossoms, inhaling their scent.

“Thank you, Seaton. They’re lovely.”

“You’re welcome. I thought I’d come by and see how you were doing.”

One of the girls pulled away from the group and dragged a chair over for him. He settled himself and placed his elbows on his knees, studying Bellamy. With the sun kissing her tanned skin, she looked like a goddess. The scent of suntan lotion drifted to him on a breeze, mingled with what he knew was Bellamy’s own unique scent. It was an intriguing mixture.

“I’m doing well, thank you.” She smiled. “I never got a chance to properly thank you and the other trackers.”

“No thanks were needed. We were tasked with a job and we did it. I’m just glad we found you before something bad happened to you.” He paused. “We did find you before then, right?”

“Yes. He merely yelled and threatened before you showed up. I have no doubt he would’ve harmed me if you hadn’t arrived when you did, though. I really do owe you and your friends my life. Is there anything I can do to repay you?”

This wasn’t exactly how he’d planned to ask, but he’d take what he could get.

“There is one thing.”

“Name it.”

“Go to dinner with me, tomorrow night.”

Her eyes widened slightly. “Dinner? As in a date?”

Seaton nodded. “Yes, I’d very much like to take you out on a date.”

A delighted smile curved her lips. “I can’t think of anything I’d like more. What time should I be ready?”

“Say, seven?”

“Seven sounds perfect.”

He rose. “I’ll let you get back to your pool party. I didn’t mean to intrude. If I’d have thought about it, I’d have called ahead to make sure it was okay to stop by. In the future, I won’t drop by unannounced.”

“We have an open door policy here,” Bellamy told him. “Stop by any time you want. I seldom go out so you can find me by the pool or reading in the sunroom most days.”

“Well, we’ll just have to do something about that. Can’t have you cooped up in the house all day every day.”

One of the girls snorted. “If you can get Bells out of the house, more power to you. We invite her to the movies or out for ice cream all the time, but she almost always turns us down.”

“She even turned down my invitation to the bookstore the other day, and everyone knows how much she loves to read,” another said.

“Well, I do believe I’ve just been challenged. I’ll have to come up with something that lures you out of the house,” he told Bellamy.

“If anyone can do it, I’m sure it will be you.” Her cheeks flushed. “I look forward to seeing you at dinner tomorrow.”

He lifted her hand and kissed the backs of her fingers. “Until then.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Award-winning author Jessica Coulter Smith has been in love with the written word since she was a child writing her first stories in crayon. Today she’s a multi-published author of over seventy-five novellas and novels. Romance is an integral part of her world and spills over from her professional life into her personal one. When she went on that first date with her husband, she never expected to hear the words “Marry me!” pop out of his mouth – and judging by the shocked look on his face, he hadn’t meant to say them either. But, being the hopeless romantic that she is, Jessica said yes and they’ve been married since 2000.

Upcoming Releases for Jessica Coulter Smith

Nothing is set in stone, as far as dates being assigned. However, that being said, I just completed Intergalactic Loyalties #4 (Fated) last night and hope to have it to my editor no later than May 21st. If all goes according to plan, it will release in July 2016. It is under contract, but the release date will depend on edits and such. The cover art request has been turned in, but I won’t have a cover until closer to release. This isn’t the official blurb, but it will give you a little insight into the book:

This isn’t the official blurb, but it will give you a little insight into the book:

There is but one thing a Tourmalane prince wants above all else—his mate. When Lyros finds Roux on a floating brothel, he knows he must rescue the small human female. She’s alluring and yet her shyness intrigues far more than any bold beauty could have. Lyros wants to shelter her, protect her, and make her his in every way. But what if all he’s feeling is lust and not the mating pull?

When a bit of trouble on his world requires him to make a trip to Earth, he asks Roux to go with him. Once he comes to terms with the fact that she’s truly his, he will stop at nothing to claim her. As they explore her world, and one another, Lyros can’t help but fall in love with the enchanting woman he can call his own.

With a baby on the way and the fate of his world at stake, Lyros knows he must return to Tourmalane, even though Roux has fallen in love with Paris and would like to stay. Without future generations, his planet will die, as no females have been born in over twenty years. Torn between his duty as a prince and his duty as a mate, he is relieved when Roux decides to call Tourmalane her home, giving up the wonders she’s discovered on Earth.

Just when Lyros thinks he has everything figured out, Roux gives him yet another surprise. Happily-Ever-After has never felt so good.

If you prefer the Intergalactic Brides series over Loyalties, don’t despair. I’ll have another Bride book out, hopefully, by September. I have one started, but it’s still coming together in my head, which means I don’t have a blurb yet. I’m also working on another Interstellar Love Agency story, which I hope to have out by August if not sooner.

I know, it’s a lot of sci-fi. I am, actually, writing some non-science fiction books, just not under the name Jessica Coulter Smith. I have a sweeter heat level pen name for Young Adult and New Adult stories that either have no sex or closed door sex scenes (which means the sex is alluded to but not actually seen). For those of you who receive my newsletter, you know I’m talking about the name Charity West. I’ve completed two stories under that name, one of which is published (The Boyfriend Deal) and the other has been submitted to a publisher. I have a third story going under that pen name, but I’m not sure when it will be finished.

So, that’s my plan through September. At least three more alien books, and depending on how things go possibly another Charity West book. Just know that schedule isn’t set in concrete. Life happens (I lost my grandmother in March, as an example) and sometimes it derails my writing schedule. But if it’s at all humanly possible, you’ll have a book from me at least every other month (starting with Cailtlyn and the Alien Protector on May 20th).

About the Book

Kicked off his home world after losing his mate, Reyvor has made a place for himself on Earth, spending his afternoons drinking and his nights cruising the streets on his Harley. But all of that is about to change. A commotion outside of his motel room just may turn out to be his saving grace.

Hazel has lost everything, but she’d do it all again if it meant escaping the abusive boyfriend who liked to beat on her three girls and herself. Dumpster diving has never been her favorite thing to do, but she doesn’t have a penny to her name and her girls are starving. But when she’s caught, something miraculous happens.

Reyvor knows right away that the petite woman with the large blue eyes needs him. When he hears that this little ragtag family hasn’t eaten in days, he convinces Hazel to accept a warm meal and a place to stay for the night. The girls warm his heart and remind him of what he once wanted out of life. Is it too late to start over?

Hazel is hesitant to trust anyone again with her heart, but Reyvor is determined to make her his. What’s an alien to do when all he wants is a loving family to call his own? He’ll break down her defenses one by one, until she melts against him and begs for his kiss. But can he claim the feisty Hazel without completely losing his heart to her?

EXCERPT

The bike purred to life and he pulled away from the curb. It wasn’t too terribly late, but he knew the upscale stores would be closed. After driving through town, he found one of those large stores that seemed to carry a little bit of everything and decided it would suit his purpose. Human clothes were a mystery to him, but a gaggle of giggling teen girls had been only too happy to help him out. They’d flirted outrageously, even though he was obviously too old for them. He’d been kind and considerate, but had made sure their flirting didn’t go any further.

After he paid for his purchases, he shoved them into his saddlebags and went back to the hotel room he was renting by the week. It was really more of a suite with a separate bedroom and living area, more than enough room for him. Reyvor pulled to a stop in front of his door, turned off the bike, and retrieved his bags of clothes. Inside the room, he put everything away and pulled out the pajama pants the girls had talked him into. They felt soft and he thought they would be ideal for lounging around the room, but he’d always slept naked and didn’t intend to stop now.

He changed, braided his hair, and was about to sit down and turn on the TV when he heard a commotion outside. The panic of a female voice sent him into motion and he opened the door to see what was going on. A very small woman was struggling to break free of the hotel manager. He noticed three small, very scared children, hovering nearby.

“What’s the problem?” he asked as he stepped outside.

“I caught this piece of trash digging through the dumpsters and peeking in the windows. She’s here to steal stuff and I’m calling the cops.”

Her clothes were worn and torn in places, her hair matted and dirty. The children huddling behind her were just as worn and unclean. It didn’t take but a moment for him to surmise that they had nowhere to go and were living on the streets. He’d seen several people begging for money on street corners, but the stubborn tilt of the woman’s chin told him she’d never begged for anything in her life.

“Did you stop to think maybe they were merely hungry and looking for food?” Reyvor asked. “Perhaps if you offered them a hot meal they wouldn’t need to dig through the dumpster.”

“I’m not running a charity here. If they want to eat, they’ll pay for it just like everyone else. It’s bad for business having people like this hanging around.”

Reyvor frowned as he saw the shame flash in the woman’s eyes and the flush of embarrassment on the cheeks of her children. He didn’t know what had happened to her, why she had fallen so far, but in that moment he determined that he would help her in any way that he could. Despite the grime, he could tell she was an attractive woman, and he couldn’t understand why she didn’t have a male watching over her.

“Let her go,” Reyvor said. “I’ll take responsibility for her.”

The manager eyed him and finally released the woman, shoving her toward Reyvor. She fell against him and his arms immediately went around her. She was slight and he worried that it had been too long since she’d last eaten. The manager stormed off in the other direction and Reyvor addressed the tattered creature in his arms.

“My name is Reyvor and I’d like to help you, if you’ll let me.”

She looked like she might refuse for a moment, but one of the children tugged on her ratty shirt and he saw the stubbornness melt away. Her gaze was adoring as she looked at her children. She smoothed the hair of the one nearest and then turned her gaze up at Reyvor.

“I’ll accept your help, but only because my children are hungry. We haven’t eaten in two days.”

“Come inside and I’ll pick up some food for you. The children can rest and watch TV while you wait.”

She hesitated a moment, but nodded her consent then followed him into his suite. The children settled on the sofa and looked around the room with wide eyes. He handed the eldest child the remote and watched as she found something for them to watch. The mother had yet to take her eyes off him and he wondered what she was thinking.

“I need to step into the other room to change,” he said. “It won’t take long to retrieve food for you. Is there anything in particular you’d like? Or any allergies I need to know about?”

She shook her head. “Anything will be fine. I appreciate your kindness.”

He looked at the children on the sofa once more and realized they were all three girls. Reyvor couldn’t imagine how difficult it must be to live on the streets with three children, but especially three female children. He would think they wouldn’t be as tough as a boy.

He crouched in front of them. “What are your names?”

The eldest looked to her mother before responding. “I’m Nikki, and my sisters are Winnie and Abby.”

“I’m Reyvor. It’s very nice to meet the three of you. And does your pretty mother have a name?”

The mother in question blushed. “I’m Hazel.”

“Make yourselves at home.”

Reyvor ducked into the bedroom and quickly changed into one of his new pairs of jeans and a tee. After he’d put on his boots, he gathered his keys and wallet, and stepped back into the living room. Four heads turned in his direction and for a moment he wasn’t sure if he should say something. With a smile, he let himself out and got on his bike, revving the engine before taking off out of the parking lot.

What the hell did kids on Earth eat?

The Story Behind the Story

Reyvor’s story stumped me at first. He’d lost his mate and blamed himself, but I wasn’t sure how to convince him life was still worth living. The only thing I think to do was give him a woman he could save. While I’ve never lived on the streets or had to dumpster dive for meals, I did lose my home not too long ago, and had someone not taken pity on us, we wouldn’t have had a place to live. It was scary, terrifying, and I felt like a failure. So I put myself in Hazel’s shoes and asked what I would have done if someone hadn’t come through at the last minute (literally two days before we had to be out of our other home). Reyvor’s story was a labor of love and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

About the Author

Jessica lives in a world where warlocks, shapeshifters and fairies exist, and everyone deserves a happy ending — from tragic vampires finally finding love after centuries of being alone, to super hunky womanizing werewolves finding their destined mate –- it’s all in a day’s work.

Unable to find a werewolf of her very own, she decided to marry someone who thinks he’s one -– minus howling at the full moon, fleas, and a rousing game of chase-the-mailman. Okay, so he sometimes howls at the full moon.

When she isn’t writing, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, reading (mostly romance), or going to the beach (which she seldom gets to do). She’s especially fond of bookstores and Starbucks!

10 Things About Me

If you’re on Facebook, then you’ve probably noticed those statuses of people posting X number of things people don’t know about them. Well, it made me think… why should only my Facebook friends get that little peek into my life? I’m sure I have followers who aren’t on Facebook, or don’t follow me there. Not that I’m saying I’m the most fascinating person on the planet or anything.

So here goes…

1. I’ve been writing romance/erotic romance novels and novellas since 2008 and have published over 40 stories.

2. I do not plot. Ever. I open my Word doc and begin to write, and whatever pours out of me is what I accomplish for the day. And when I stop, I have no clue where I’m going with the story until I sit down to write again the next day.

3. I’m the crazy cat lady. It wasn’t intentional, it just sort of happened. We started with one, the adopted three more. And it snowballed from there.

4. I burn incense just about all the time, and my favorite scent is Dragon’s Blood. What I will never burn, is anything vanilla. Can’t stand the smell.

5. I love holiday movies. Doesn’t matter how early they start showing them, as soon as I see them on the Hallmark channel, I start watching them.

6. I hate cooking, with a passion. As far as I’m concerned, the kitchen is the place where drinks and snacks are stored. If anyone expects anything else to come out of there, they’re being really optimistic.

7. I’ve been married for 13 years and have two children. My house is only quiet from the time the kids go to bed until my husband gets home from work, then the TV comes back on and conversation resumes.

8. I love to read. Even when I’m on a deadline, I still make time to read (mostly romance).

9. I learned to play the piano, harp, and mountain dulcimer before I was 20 – none of which I’ve played in the last 7 or 8 years.

10. I’m 2 courses shy of a Psychology minor. I’m armed with just enough info to make me dangerous. It does help with character development though!

Erotic Romance Novella

Bailey Sanders has always been a one-night stand kind of woman, until she meets Alex Mendos. There’s just something about him that calls to her. His bedroom eyes, his wicked smile, his sinful body… Bailey can barely keep her hands off him, or her mind off the delicious things she’d like to do to him. But when their time together has permanent results, she wonders if she’ll be able to count on Alex. Can her scrumptious bad boy turn into a doting daddy?

ADULT EXCERPT

A skintight black dress hugged her curves, stopping mere inches below her ass. Matching strappy sandals adorned her small feet. With her purple streaked hair pulled back and a simple choker around her neck, she looked like sex personified. She knew that dressed as she was there was a good chance she would only attract the attention of men looking for a good time, but she could hope that others would look her way, too.

The music in the club was booming and people cluttered the dance floor. She made her way to the bar and climbed onto one of the vacant stools. Ordering an Irish coffee, she settled in and observed the crowd. There were more women than men, but that didn’t deter her. Even if she didn’t find what she was looking for tonight, she could still have fun.

Bailey sipped her drink as her eyes scanned the men in the room. In the corner, she saw a group of men cutting up and having a good time. She was surprised to see that Alex was among them. Part of her wanted to go over and ask him to dance, but she refrained. While she wanted to have another taste, it wouldn’t help her long-term plan much. She tore her gaze away and looked around again. Her view was suddenly blocked by a deep blue button down shirt.

Looking up, she smiled in surprise. It wasn’t just one man standing in front of her, but two. Identical twins at that. Mm-mm. The night was looking up.

“May I help you gentleman?” she asked.

“We were hoping you might like to dance.”

“With both of you?” she asked, her gaze taking in their tousled black hair and bright blue eyes. In that regard, they reminded her of Alex. They were tall like him too, but not as well built. Not that they were tiny by any means, their muscles just weren’t as… well, Alex’s muscles had muscles. It was hardly fair to compare anyone to him.

The first one nodded. “I’m Andrew and this is my brother Adam.”

“I’m Bailey, and I’d love to dance.”

She sat her drink down and followed them onto the dance floor. Sandwiched between them, she let the beat carry her. One of her favorite songs was playing and she just let go. Dancing with wild abandon, she felt their hands caress her. She smiled and ground her hips against the one in front of her.

He placed his hands on either side of her and pulled her closer, his brother moved in even closer behind. She could feel their heat surrounding her. And then suddenly, it was gone.

She blinked and realized that someone had taken her arm and jerked her out from between the hot twins. Looking up, she saw Alex glowering down at her. What was his problem?

“Are you quite done?” he asked.

“No, actually, I’m not. If you don’t mind, I’m dancing.”

“Is that what you call it?”

She tilted her chin up. “It’s what you called it last weekend.”

Alex motioned for the twins to take a hike, then pulled her off the dance floor into a quiet corner of the room. He released her and she rubbed her arm.

“What’s wrong with you?” she demanded. “I was having fun!”

“I told you to call me.”

“What you said was that it had been fun and you wouldn’t mind doing it again sometime. That doesn’t translate into me not dancing with other men.”

“I didn’t like seeing you with them.”

“You’re not the kind of guy I need right now, Alex. You don’t want to be tied down, and I’m not going to tie myself to a guy who can’t commit to me.” She turned and walked off a few steps before facing him again. “Don’t interfere again.”

She heard Alex curse behind her as she walked back toward the bar, intent on downing another drink. Instead, halfway there, she changed her mind and left the club. She heard footsteps behind her but didn’t think anything of it. It wasn’t until the sound was directly behind her that she got a little nervous. Glancing over her shoulder, she stopped in the middle of the sidewalk.

“What are you doing?” she demanded.

“Making sure you get to your car okay.”

“Alex… what do you want from me?”

He shrugged. “A chance to get to know you would be nice.”

“But you don’t do relationships.”

“Who said we had to call it a relationship?”

“Well, that’s what I’m looking for. And if you aren’t capable of that, then turn around and walk back inside and find you a quick ride for the night, because it won’t be me. What do you do, anyway, come down here every night looking to get laid?”

“One of the guys got engaged this morning. We came out to celebrate. I haven’t been here since Saturday night.”

She bit her lip. “Me neither.”

“Look, at least let me walk you to your car.”

“I walked.”

His eyebrows rose. “You walked?” His gaze raked her from head to toe. “In that?”

“I didn’t want to be bothered with parking down here. It’s only a few blocks to my apartment.”

“Then I’ll drive you home.”

“Alex…”

He pulled her into his arms and she melted against him. No matter how much she wanted to fight him, she just couldn’t resist him. Having his arms around her felt wonderful, and she remembered what it had been like to have his naked flesh pressed against hers, to have his cock inside of her. Breathing him in, she practically purred.

“Let me take you home,” he whispered in her ear.

She nodded and let him walk her to his car. He opened the passenger door and she slid into the beautiful black Mustang. The car was sleek and powerful, just like its owner. The interior smelled like him and she inhaled deeply before he got in.

The drive to her apartment was silent. If he had anything on his mind, he was saving it for when they got upstairs. Upstairs. Now there was a thought. He was going to be in her home again. They’d never made it to the bedroom last time, would he expect to get there this time? Was that why he wanted to take her home? Did he just want a repeat performance? Not that she really minded. She had been craving him since the moment she’d laid eyes on him, and the craving just got worse and worse. Even now her mouth watered at the mere thought of sucking that long, hard cock of his.

He parked and helped her out of the car. They walked up the stairs to the third floor and she let them in to her apartment. His business card still sat on her coffee table, a brilliant white rectangle against the dark wood. Alex walked over and picked it up.

“Were you ever going to use this?”

“It’s only been a few days.”

He dropped it back onto the table. “I had hoped you would have called by now. I’ve been thinking about you.”

“You have?”

“Every second of every day.” He moved closer, pulling her body tight against his. “Remembering the taste of your lips, the scent of your soft skin, the feel of your pussy as it gripped my cock… Thoughts of you have been driving me mad.”

He’d thought of her? He hadn’t just forgotten her once he’d walked out of her door? She smiled and leaned her head against his chest. Her hands rested on his upper arms, strong arms, arms made for holding and protecting. Thud. Thud. His heart pounded and she wondered if he was just immensely turned on right then, or if he was nervous. She knew he wanted her, she’d seen the bulge in his pants before she’d gotten in his car with him. Hers was pounding too, mostly from desire. She wanted him, more than she’d ever wanted anyone before. Only Alex made her feel this way. Why? What was it about him that called to her so? She’d been attracted to men before, but with Alex there felt like there was something more.

“I’ve thought about you, too,” she admitted softly.

He leaned down and gently captured her lips with his. She trembled in his arms and leaned into him. His tongue slid into her mouth. He tasted of whiskey and pure male lust, and she couldn’t get enough of him.

I couldn’t believe my luck. The most gorgeous man I’d ever seen had just walked into Sam’s Place, a bar not exactly known as a hangout for gay couples. So why was tall, dark, and yummy smiling and heading my way? I was glad I’d worn my blue buttondown shirt with my jeans, knowing the color matched my eyes.

As the man approached, I looked him over from head to toe, lingering on his broad, sculpted chest and flat stomach. I wasn’t exactly short at 5’10”, but this man topped me by several inches. Just thinking of having that large, hard body pressed against mine as he fucked me was enough to make me hard.

I shifted on the barstool, my cock now pressing against the front of my pants. I was uncomfortable, but in a good way.

The man’s smile widened as he stopped in front of me, obviously having noticed my frank appraisal. “Like what you see?” he asked in a deep, rumbling voice.

“Oh yeah.” I immediately flushed, not believing I’d just said that aloud. Clearing

my throat, I nodded toward the bartender. “Can I buy you a beer?”

“Sounds good. I’ll have whatever you’re having.”

“Hey, Scott, bring another Corona with a slice of lime,” I shouted to my friend.

Scott smiled and nodded. Noticing the man standing in front of me, he winked.

“I’m Brian,” the man said, holding out his hand.

I shook it and smiled. “Sean.”

He slid onto the barstool next to mine. “Nice to meet you.”

“Likewise.” I took a sip of my beer. “I don’t think I’ve seen you around before.

Are you just visiting?”

“Actually, I just moved here. I accepted a position at Hankins & Wilson.”

My eyes widened. “You’re a lawyer?”

He laughed. “Yeah, why? You have a thing against lawyers?”

“No, it’s just… you seem a little young to be a lawyer. So what do you think of Willow Grove so far?”

“Quaint. It’s part of what drew me here. I miss small town charm.”

“You’re from a small town?”

Scott brought Brian’s beer, opened it and sat it down in front of him. As he took a swallow, I watched his throat muscles work and felt my cock throb.

“I grew up in a small town outside of Dallas. No place I’m sure you’ve heard of.

Population three hundred.”

“Wow, and I thought Willow Grove was bad with five hundred.”

He smiled. “It just gets better and better, that’s for sure.”

I returned his smile and wondered if he was after something long term or just a one night stand. I wasn’t really a one-night stand type of guy, but I might be willing to make an exception for him. All I knew was that I wanted him. I’d never been so fiercely attracted to a man before in my life.

“I’d have to agree.”

Brian tipped his head toward the door. “Want to get out of here?”

I hopped off the barstool. “Love to.”

He stood and reached for my hand, tugging me toward the door. Disgusted looks followed us, except for Scott who was smiling. Brian paid for the beer and I fought the urge to stick out my tongue at the bar patrons. It was time for Willow Grove to be more open-minded.

When we got outside, he led me to a silver Audi parked at the curb. It just showed how different we really were. My older Honda was trusty but nothing to brag about, not compared to the sleek machine in front of me. As I slid into the butter soft interior, I inhaled the new car smell.

Brian got in on the driver’s side and started the car. “So… I feel like I should tell you that I don’t believe in one-night stands.” He stared into my eyes. “But I do believe in love at first sight.”

I gulped. “Me too. To both.”

He gave me a slow, sexy grin. “Your place or mine?”

“Yours. Mine tends to be noisy.”

He nodded and pulled away from the curb. In less than five minutes, we were in front of a small house on a quiet street.

We got out and I followed him up to the house. When we approached the door, the porch light popped on, illuminating us in soft yellow light.

“I should warn you, I didn’t clean up today,” he said as he pushed the door open.

“I don’t care.” And I really didn’t.

When we stepped inside, I was surprised at the décor. I had expected cool, contemporary pieces, not the lush oversized brown leather sofa and chair. A rustic wooden coffee table dominated the middle of the room, giving the place a western feel. Black and white photos from what I assumed to be Texas hung on the walls, along with a few photos of him with an older woman and man whom I assumed were his parents.

He kicked the door shut and stepped close to me, gently grabbing my nape. Pulling me close, he kissed me softly, his lips moving over mine in a sensual dance. When I parted my lips, his tongue slipped inside and I nearly came in my pants. I’d never wanted a man like I wanted Brian.
