My plan, my goal has changed. I’m not here to hurt them anymore but to help them.

With the aid of the other two boys, we’re doing all we can to break the spell and stop my cousin’s nefarious plans which include killing the boys to take their power and then taking over the world.

Nothing much. Only that.

As my own magic awakes, I need to come to terms with who I really am and my new reality. Yet saving my boys is fast becoming my priority. Incredible as it may seem, I’ve fallen for them – all four of them.

But my cousin isn’t done yet. She has power and plenty of aces up her sleeve. Will I be able to wrestle my boys away from her before it’s too late?

MY REVIEW – 5 stars!

Poor Mia candy catch a break! With her evil cousin bent on destroying everything Mia holds dear, she has no choice but to fight. It broke my heart every time the guys went to Ophelia. I seriously hate her. Every time she’s on scene, I want to reach into the book and crush her. But I loved seeing Mia learn more about herself, discovering her true feelings for the guys, and starting to come into her magic more.

So may ups and downs with this one! I think I growled as often as I smiled while reading Of Demons and Witches. I always hate cliffhangers, but with this series, it just leaves me eager for more.

I can’t wait to discover more about who Mia really is. So many puzzle pieces fall into place in this installment of the series yet I’m still left with lingering questions. Not to mention the surprises uncovered… (No spoilers! You’ll have to read it to find out!) I’ll be on pins and needles waiting to find out what happens next!.

My Review – 4 stars!

Looking for a short, insta-love, super cute story? This is it!

I went into this knowing it was a short read, so I didn’t expect much in the way of character development or a big plot. Which is good because it has neither.

I thought Felicity and Emmett were so cute together! No matter how much he wanted to keep his distance, the moment he saw she was in trouble he went rushing to the rescue.

This is a perfect bite-sized read with an HEA for those wanting something to read on their lunch break. It’s guaranteed to leave a smile on your face.

BOOK REVIEW: Mated to the Orc Warrior by Celeste King #orcs #fantasyromance #bookreview

My life can best be described as toil and servitude. Little did I expect that it would lead to love.

A human woman in an orc kingdom has little reason for hope in this blasted and ruined Earth.
I thought my fate was sealed. To suffer till death claimed me and brought mercy.

That is, until a fierce, tortured soul of an Orc stole my heart away.

Inzo’s spirit is as scarred as war wounds on his body.
The pain and suffering have taken a toll.
Yet, I find his heart to be strong, and good.

But is there room for me in inside it?

The smell of ash and fire are on the wind.
Danger threatens on the horizon.
This broken, scarred, and fearsome Orc thinks he has nothing left to give.
But he’s already given me the greatest gift of all.

His love.

Author’s Note: This is a full length monster romance that features a giant Orc with eyes for his beloved, curvy human. Action and adventure abound as well as steamy scenes between the tiny human and giant Orc. HEA guaranteed.

MY REVIEW – 5 stars!

1 surly orc + 1 determined human = a match made in heaven

Only Carissa took the time to see past Inzo’s scowl and grumbling. Instead of running, like the orc intends for her to do, she sticks to him like glue, even invading his home and forcing her company on him. The dynamic between the two is comical at times, until Inzo realizes he’s not the only broken one. Once he sees that Carissa is more like than him than he ever realized, things change between the two.

Full of steamy goodness, some action, and a bit of drama, Mated to the Orc Warrior is a wonderful addition tot he series. I couldn’t put it down!.

BOOK REVIEW: Of Boys and Beasts by Mona Black #reverseharem #paranormalromance #bookreview

One is a werewolf with an ax to grind

Two is a vampire with a heart of coal

Three is a demon with a taste for pain

Four is a fae with a past of woe

Five is a girl who will take them down all

In revenge for all the pain they’ve sown

So what if they’re gorgeous? They must atone…

My name is Mia Solace. You know, the girl who will take them down all? That’s me.

When my cousin is returned to us by Pandemonium Academy in a glass coffin, in an enchanted sleep she isn’t expected to wake up from, I grab her diary and head to the Academy myself.

Because her diary, you see, tells of four cruel boys who bullied her and broke her heart until she sought oblivion through a spell.

Four magical boys, because that’s the world we live in now; heirs of powerful families attending this elite Academy where the privileged scions of the human and magical races are brought together in the noble pursuit of education.

As for me, I cheat to get on the student roster, and once I’m in, well… it’s war, baby. I’ll get those four sons of guns, steal their secrets, make them hurt. I’ll transform into an avenging angel for my cousin, for all the girls they’ve wronged, and I bet there are plenty of those.

While growing up, my cousin was my only friend. Now I’ll be her champion.

Only these boys aren’t exactly as I pictured them. Devastatingly handsome, deliciously brooding, strangely haunted, they’re getting under my skin and through my defenses.

Kissing them surely wasn’t part of my plan.

Getting into bed with them even less…

BOOK REVIEW – 5 stars

Seriously amazing! Bad boys who may not be as awful as they seem, a girl who’s more than she realized, and a few really big mysteries… I couldn’t put it down and am now craving book two!

I love Mia’s character! Despite the book being a fantasy, her reactions and doubts are very real. She’s a delightfully well-rounded character and I can’t wait to find out more about her.

The boys are a huge mystery. Clearly there’s something going on… I both like and hate each of them. Mostly I want to punch them in the face for being idiots.

Be warned… don’t start this book unless you have time to binge read… because it’s impossible to stop turning the pages!

BOOK REVIEW: Rescued by the Orc Chieftan by Celeste King #fantasyromance #orcs #bookreview

Rescued by the Orc Chieftan is a perfectly delightful addition to the series. If you haven’t read Celeste King’s orc romances, you’re missing out!

Yrish is often taken over by madness during battle. His fellows orcs fear him, and with good reason. But one small human woman changes everything. Camille is fearless, and will do anything to give her sister a better life. But she didn’t count on actually liking the orc who kidnapped her.

Yrish is strong. Fierce. And yet he’s gentle too. When it comes to Camille and his feelings for her, he’s just as insecure as most guys. It made him endearing, the way he worried over to show Camille he wanted her as his mate.

Camille has fought long and hard to keep her little sister safe and fed. Watching her learn to trust an orc, a creature she’d thought of as the enemy, was entertaining to say the least. And it also proves that you can’t always judge someone by their looks. The brutish orc showed her more tenderness and concern than the humans she’d been living with.

Another 5 star read from Ms. King! I can’t wait to see what happens next with these super sexy orcs! I’ll be eagerly waiting for the next book…. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Celeste King loves to write about naughty aliens and sassy humans. When worlds collide, there’s sure to be humor and romance, and that’s what gets her in front of the keyboard every day.

Telling the stories that are in her brain. Most people would be worried if they couldn’t stop thinking about imaginary voices, but since she started writing down the crazy “what ifs” that occur to her, it’s an exciting adventure.

Her cat, her keyboard, and her husband keep her busy and happy alongside a nice mug of green tea. She doesn’t enjoy them in that order… necessarily.

She’s busy at work on books in her Kaleth world, where human culture is just the guilty pleasure the rest of the universe shares.

BOOK REVIEW: Seeing by Patrick Winters #horror #bookreview

A secret revealed. A legacy undone. A horror immortalised.

For generations, the Berdeaux family name had been synonymous with hospitality and distinction. But that all changed in the summer of 1979, when Dewey Berdeaux’s “hobby” came to light. It was a revelation that stunned the town of Barrville, and ever since then, the Berdeaux family mansion has stood as a grim reminder—with its fair share of ghosts, if rumour is to be believed.

Now, a brother and sister will bring their team of paranormal investigators to the ancestral home, seeking evidence of the supernatural. They aim to show the world there is something more beyond our passing.

But sometimes, some things are better left unseen…

MY REVIEW – 3 1/2 stars

Seeing is the first story I’ve read by this author. I’ve always loved horror books and movies, especially ones about haunted houses. However, that also means my expectations are high.

The Berdeaux House is home of a famous murderer, who supposedly haunts the halls. Sounds like an amazing, spine tingling read, doesn’t it?

The beginning, for me, was a bit slow. When we get to the creepy, haunted house, the author set the stage with a short conversation and tour with the owner. To this point, the pacing is slow. Incredibly so for such a short novella.

Once left to their own devices, the ghost hunters set up their equipment and start their hunt. I was ready and waiting for some action! And then waited and waited…

This is the part that dragged for me. Instead of letting me experience the initial rounds of their investigation, the author “tells” us about it. The pages with little to no action drag the pace down further.

Then we finally meet the ghost!

Once the ghost enters the scene, things go from almost stagnant to warp speed. Action. Drama. Violence. I could feel the emotions at this point in the story and was eager for more. Sadly, over 70% is spent setting up the actual haunting so it was over far too quickly.

Those short action-packed pages were thrilling, and a perfect blend of horror and suspense.

BOOK REVIEW: The Orc’s Bride by Layla Fae #fantasyromance #LaylaFae

Orcs killed my family. They order us around and take from us what they want. And I am determined to end their rule. So when the ferocious silver-eyed orc says he’ll carry me away from my backwater village right to the orc capital, I take this chance. Being among orcs and having access to their Imperator, I can save humankind.

There is only one complication. This orc wants me to become his mate. He promises, or rather threatens, to court me over the journey. And orc courtship isn’t about flowers and holding hands. It’s about showing me his desire. I must pretend to be attracted to him so he doesn’t discover my secret.

The problem is… I don’t really have to pretend. I’m falling in love with my deadliest enemy.

This steamy monster romance is a 37.000 word novella and ends with a HFN. It’s book one in The Silver Fury series.

MY REVIEW – 4 stars

It took me a few pages to settle into the rhythm of the author’s writing but once I did, I enjoyed the story. The world-building was excellent and I enjoyed the characters. Una and the orc general may not seem like they’d be a good match, but as the two get to know one another they learn a few surprising things. The secondary characters add depth to the story and I found them entertaining. What I didn’t like was the cliffhanger. Hopefully, it won’t be long before the next part of the story releases.

BOOK REVIEW: Cinderella and Fae Charming by Amelia Shaw #fairytales #fantasyromance

Just because I sleep in front of the fire, doesn’t make me a damsel in distress.

My step-mother calls me Cinderella… Not because I’m happily married to a prince, but because I have a horrible family! My parents are both dead, leaving me with a step mother who tormented me until I left home forever.

Now I live on the streets, stealing food to survive. It isn’t ideal, but neither was living under the same roof as the my step-mother once my father died.

But I’m not helpless, I can handle anything that comes my way… Until I my step-mother tries to sell off my father’s house.

Now all bets are off.

*** Standalone Urban Fantasy twist on Cinderella with Fae, and magic, and a slow burn romance.

MY REVIEW – 4 stars

Cinderella and Fae Charming is a cute fantasy romance with a more modern flare.

Imagine if Cinderella had been fae, along with everyone else in the story… that’s exactly what Amelia Shaw did with this cute fairytale retelling. I loved the Shawna learned how to save herself instead of relying on the prince to swoop in and rescue her. She was a strong character, even though she had her flaws. The prince was dashing, and a bit arrogant, but what else would you expect from a fae prince?

The pacing for the first 70% of the story held steady. The last 30% had a more rushed feeling to it. I would have enjoyed a bit more storyline between the ball and the ending.

Super cute book! Perfect for those preferring a more moderate heat level.

MY REVIEW – 4 stars

Sexy aliens, fierce women, and an evil king… what a rush!

Sophia is the type of heroine you can’t help but love. She’s strong, protects those she loves, and is willing to sacrifice herself for the happiness of her people. I adored her character.

Ikmale only wanted peace, but when it came to keeping Sophia safe, he’d have gone to war. His love for her was sudden but oh so sweet. They were such a cute couple.

I did find a lot of the modern terms coming from aliens to remove me from the sci-fi setting a bit, but it wasn’t too much of a distraction.
