In the dangerous world of drugs, things can turn deadly in an instant…
Amanda Livingston is stuck in a rut with her, boyfriend, Scott Dosser. Knowing only that she’ll never be the one to satisfy him, she doesn’t suspect the true evil lurking behind his sexy smile…until it’s too late.
A battle with drug lords into human trafficking…
Former Navy Sea, Rafe Carver, was trained to not miss details and something about this couple seems…off. Instincts on high alert, Rafe digs to find the truth. Which turns out to be more than even he bargained for. Rafe will stop at nothing to keep naive Amanda alive preferably tucked safely between the sheets of his bed.
Two strong wills collide…
Rafe thought the biggest danger was the cartel, little did he envision the sultry Amanda, was as hard-headed and feisty as she was sexy. Convincing her of the dangers surrounding proves most challenging of all and there isn’t time for error or argument. Surviving each may be even more tricky than outmaneuvering the men after her.
EXCERPT!
“Too fast,” she managed to whimper. “Oh, God, what are you doing to me?”
There had never been this kind of need inside her. Amanda thought she die if she didn’t get him naked so she could explore to her heart’s content. She had fought her nature since being with Scott. They’d fooled around, but never to the point of losing control. With this man, with Rafe, Amanda lost control the second he touched her. There was no hope of getting her sanity back now. Not until he’d eased this fire inside her.
“Same thing you’re doing to me,” he growled. “Don’t fight me.”
“Does it look like I’m fighting?” Amanda clawed at his shirt, needing to get to skin, needing to touch him. To explore. To tempt. Whether she wanted to tempt him or herself, she had no idea. But she knew this was happening. She was going to take what Rafe offered and enjoy the day in his arms.
“I need your shirt off,” he gasped. “Now. Or I’m ripping it off.”
With a little squeak of frustration, Amanda managed to get the scoop neck unbuttoned and the shirt over her head without sending buttons flying. While she did so Rafe whipped his shirt over his head revealing the most exquisite chest she’d ever seen. Glorious pecs above a hefty six pack tapered to narrow hips where his jeans were low slung, revealing part of that Adonis belt she wanted to follow with her mouth. To Amanda, it felt like years of pent up lust was suddenly released like a geyser. Once released, there was no putting it back.
She unwound her legs from Rafe’s hips. Unsteady fingers went to the waist of his pants, fumbling for the button. What her fingers were too shaky to unfasten, her adrenaline fueled strength ripped off. The button went flying but Amanda was able to push the material down his hips along with his underwear. Rafe gave a hoarse yell as his erection sprang free, pointing straight at Amanda.
Eagerly, she sank to her knees, sinking her mouth around his length without hesitation. He was big. Thick. She could barely take half of him, but what she lacked in ability, she made up for with enthusiasm.
“Holy fuck!” Rafe swore viciously. “Holy fuck!”
“Mmmm,” she responded. If she could have grinned around him, she would have. Looking up at him, she gripped his hips and urged him to move as he needed to.
Rafe gasped before gripping her hair in both fists. Amanda thought he intended to push her away, but with a violent shudder, his eyes closing tightly for a few seconds, he held her to him instead. When he didn’t move, Amanda tried to take more of him into her mouth.
“Christ, Amanda! Don’t fucking move!” He sounded in pain. “I’m about to fucking come.”
That made her whimper and her sex clench. She wanted to make him come. Needed it. She had needs too, but this was almost a compulsion. It was as if her entire being was focused on this on act. Rafe’s pleasure. Nothing would stop her from this.
With a brutal yell, Rafe pulled her back, the pain in her scalp only fueling her lust. “No!” He pulled her to her feet, yanked her jeans down her thighs with her lacy panties. Amanda quickly stepped out of both her pants and flat pumps so that she was as naked as he was.
Before she could fully appreciate the situation, Rafe had wedged his shoulders between her thighs and buried his face in her sex.

Rules were made to be broken. Until I broke the wrong ones…
***
Jackson Reed knew the only thing harder than his head was the insatiable one between his legs.
Sandwiched somewhere between following the law and his own instincts, he made up his own rules in the game of “private investigations”: his sacred version of the Holy Trinity.
Sex.
Career.
And more sex.
He towed the delicate line between the “three” until Penelope Castalano—a former flame he equated to the plague—re-enters his life…and obliterates it.
Fresh from Paris, his best friend’s attorney breaks the only deal they’ve ever made, sauntering back onto the Manhattan scene at a costume party with more to hide than just her face.
And now one fugitive best friend and two broken promises will ignite a new Holy Trinity in Jackson’s hazardous life.
Caught in the midst of a government coverup that compromises everything he’s ever cared for, Jackson will discover that certain scandals never die.
Only their victims do.
And he’d better make damn sure that he and Penelope aren’t next…
And it wasn’t from nervousness. Not from fear or anxiety or even the all-consuming dread that I felt the minute I heard sounds around me.
I couldn’t breathe because someone was quietly crushing my windpipe.
I thought the coast was clear. I walked back into the center of the room and into a pair of hands that were as strong as the Jaws of Life. A voice, barely more audible than a breeze, washed in heavy breaths across my frightened face.
The breaths were cool, disturbingly even, and had a sweet smell tinged with the scent of whiskey. Surprisingly pleasant, it was the only thing my terrified mind could process.
Maybe because I knew that it would be the last thing my brain would ever remember…
I tried to speak, but the sound of my voice died in my throat.
The man let go of my neck, and embarrassingly I sputtered. It was actually easier to catch my breath than I expected, like a faucet of air had been turned on within my lungs.
I breathed deeply as I tried to take a step backwards, and I wondered just who the hell this man was to have done what he had done. And though I couldn’t see his eyes… I knew he was silently daring me to even think about walking away from him.
And was that… was that a Bat suit that he was wearing…?

A stalker has set his sights on Harper and will stop at nothing to make her his…
Finding love is the last thing on Luke Price’s mind as he leads his construction crew to complete the new wing of Oakville Hospital. But he can’t deny his feelings when Dr. Harper Love walks into his life. Lacking the sociability of his younger siblings, Luke doesn’t think a woman like Harper would ever want an introvert like him. But he puts his skepticism on hold when he discovers that Harper has become the victim of a stalker. Above all else, Luke vows to protect the woman he cares about.
When Dr. Harper Love moves to Oakville, she doesn’t expect to find a network of new friends, a man who captures her heart, and certainly not a stalker who watches her every move. When she begins receiving menacing notes at the hospital where she works, it soon becomes clear that the threats are no prank. Harper finds herself turning to Luke Price, and his protective instincts go on high alert. Will his heart be able to stand losing Harper? Or can he figure out who the stalker is and keep the woman he loves safe?
I’m a Midwestern girl and a lover of coffee, live music, and horror movies, not necessarily in that order.
I’ve been writing all my life, and I honestly can’t remember a time when I wanted to do anything but write. After many years spent suffering the trials of corporate America and writing about everything from financial risk management to software user manuals to website copy about radiators (sadly, I’m not kidding), I decided take the plunge and start writing books.
I love a good love story with super hot alpha males, strong heroines, a little humor, and a lot of suspense. Sprinkle in some sexual fantasies and a few BDSM aspects, and Boom! These are only a few of the themes you’ll find in my books.
When I’m not writing, I’m probably at Starbucks, or fighting evil with the help of my husband, two children, and our houseful of animals.
“Look at me.” When she didn’t respond, he deepened his voice. “Harper, look at me. Now.”
She turned her head to look at him with weary blue eyes. Fuck, he hated that she looked so broken. He wanted to fix her. Or at least make her forget all the pain and potential danger right outside the door.
He opened his mouth to speak, but she stopped him with a shake of her head. “Please don’t. Don’t say it’s going to be okay. Don’t tell me there’s nothing to worry about, and they’re going to catch this guy.” She took a shaky breath. “I know everyone at your mom’s was just trying to help, trying to make me feel better.” Her fingers absently played along his. “I just don’t want you to lie to me.” She looked down at their hands.
Her words nearly broke him. He raised a hand to her cheek and brushed aside her blonde curls to cup her face and tilt it up to him. “I’ll never lie to you, Harper. Not ever. I can’t even imagine how violated you must be feeling right now. What this psycho is doing to you makes me sick to my stomach. But I can make you one promise. I will not let anything happen to you, do you understand me? I’ll die before I ever let anyone hurt you.”
Her eyes filled, and she tried to look away, but he held her face steady. “No. Look at me.” She raised her eyes again, and a tear spilled over. Luke gently wiped it away with his thumb then leaned in to press his lips against her forehead. He pulled back to look into her face. “You don’t have to be afraid, Pretty, not of me.” He brushed away another tear and stroked the back of his knuckles along her jaw. “I’m the man you can trust. I’m the man you can depend on. And I’m not going anywhere.”
“Luke…” She said his name on a whisper as the pad of his thumb stroked gently over her bottom lip. Tentatively, her tongue snaked out to lick his thumb. He stilled as her soft wetness played over the tip of his thumb. Harper searched his face as if she were waiting to see if he would pull away. When he didn’t, she sucked his thumb into her mouth.
Heat flared through Luke, and his arousal ratcheted up to eleven.
Get it together, Price. She’s vulnerable. You can’t take advantage of her.
“Harper…” He should tell her this wasn’t a good idea. When he made love to her, he wanted it to be because she needed him as much as he needed her, not because she was using him as a distraction. But when she raised her face to his and leaned in, he couldn’t deny her, couldn’t deny himself.
The second their lips met, all semblance of reasoning slipped away. The only thing in his head was her.
She’s a psychic. He’s a skeptic. Can they overcome their differences to find what matters most?
Psychic Cara Thornton’s biological clock may be ticking, but not fast enough to look twice at Cooper Cruz when he darkens her doorstep. Any man who shares DNA with her lying, cheating ex is automatically banned from her potential baby daddy sperm donor list. No way is she getting tangled in his mess, no matter how pretty his future offspring might be.
In need of help, FBI Agent Cooper Cruz will do anything to find his sister. Even if that means swallowing his pride to ask for help from the one woman his brother cheated on. If her ability is true, she’s the best chance he’s got to lead him to his sister’s location. Getting Cara to help should have been a piece of cake. He should have realized nothing about this woman would be easy.
When Cara realizes that her sister’s premonition is responsible for sending Coop’s sister running, she relents and offers to work with him to find both missing women. Surviving a battle of wills, a hotel full of horny senior citizens, and Cara’s meddling family are the least of their worries when danger is lurking in the shadows.
EXCERPT
Cara crossed her legs and let her gaze sweep over the man standing in her doorway. He looked in need of a good tumble in the dryer and a few eye drops to clear the redness from his eyes. Stubble covered the sexiest jaw she’d ever seen. Broad shoulders and muscular thighs gave him that bad-boy vibe that screamed ride me all night long. Damn, now that song would play in her head the rest of the day.
His Caribbean blue eyes were mesmerizing. His brown hair matched the icing on the brownie sitting on her desk. He’d make pretty babies. All she’d need was his sperm. Would he be offended if she handed him a cup and lifted her shirt to help him along?
“Are you Cara Thatcher?” His voice was deceptively calm, his gaze assessing. Muscles coiled in his arms, his jaw clenched, and Cara had this gut-wrenching feeling that if she answered his simple question, her life would be forever changed.
“Who’s asking?” she deflected and rose from her chair, ready to fire whatever security guard he’d slipped past downstairs. People called the workers at Linked Inc. quacks for having abilities. They weren’t the crazy ones. Crazy people were unpredictable, and…this guy, although good looking, might very well be tiptoeing the line.
His jaw ticked as he slipped his hand into his pocket. Cara kept her finger hovering over the alarm button beneath her desk. The scent of baby powder drifted to her nose, making her pause. The sweet, innocent scent was so at odds with his appearance.
The stranger’s blue eyes darkened while zeroing in on her fingers, and he slowly pulled his wallet free with two fingers as if he were a criminal trying to calm a trigger-happy police officer. “Relax, lady.”
Relax wasn’t in Cara’s vocabulary, even if he looked like a sleep-deprived, crazed daddy in need of a night off.
He opened his wallet and held out his badge. FBI? She plopped back down in her chair. The tension in her shoulders deflated, like the air in her tires the last time they’d been slashed. That crazy person had never been caught. Cara’s cheeks heated under his stare. Overreact much? Gah…“How can I help you, Agent…”
“Special Agent Cooper Cruz.” He gestured to the seat, asking permission to sit.
Cruz? The only Cruz she knew was Eric. The one that she’d dated. The same one who had destroyed her heart by stomping it into a million little pieces. That Cruz was the reason she no longer dated cops. And, although that Cruz and this one didn’t look remotely related, she couldn’t help the gut punch from having to relive the brief memories. Cara shoved the distant memories away and focused on the man she’d be addressing by his first name, in an effort to disassociate the two. It was the least she could do.
“Yes, of course. Please have a seat, Agent. Is it okay if I call you Cooper?”
Cara opened her desk drawer, pulled out her phone, and turned on the recorder. It was standard practice that she recorded everything so the authorities and her clients could review the message from a spirit or her visions later when they weren’t so emotional. It didn’t hurt that it protected her ass from lawsuits. “You don’t mind if I record, do you? I like to make sure you guys don’t misinterpret whatever it is I say.”
“Uh, sure.”
Silently she ran through her work calendar in her mind. She hadn’t had an appointment scheduled with Agent Cruz. She would have remembered. She would have canceled or pushed him off on one of her other sisters, just because of his last name. She smiled smoothly, betraying nothing of her annoyance. Her mother would be proud.
“Thanks, and sure, you can call me Coop.” He sat across from her, and his gaze traveled over the contents of her office. His expression darkened with an unreadable emotion as he crossed and uncrossed his arms. He looked one step away from bolting out the door, until his gaze landed on the “unofficial” certificate the FBI had given her for helping to pinpoint clues that led to the apprehension of a serial killer. He lifted a brow. “So it’s true? You helped catch the notorious Tri-County Reaper.”
The Tri-County Reaper was a serial killer of the worst kind. He was smart. He’d been terrorizing Florida, Alabama, and Georgia cops for ten years, disposing of his victims’ bodies inside the fresh graves of people just laid to rest. It was the last place any cop would look, and the only place where he’d left the evidence behind that had sent him away for life.
“I don’t catch criminals, Agent….Coop. I merely provide new clues for the police to investigate.”
He nodded and ran his hand through his already disheveled hair. “You come highly recommended.”
Doubt that. Feed me another line. Her brow rose instantly. Her help was usually swept under the rug. Her involvement was usually the last resort, after all the leads had turned cold. Who did this guy think he was kidding?
“I only deal with missing persons or homicides. Which one are you here for?”
Coop’s brows dipped. The energy around his aura sparked out like a live wire. His emotions seemed to be bouncing off the walls, even though he remained tight-lipped.
I can’t read your mind, buddy. The words were on the tip of her tongue. She could have eased him into a false sense of security, but why bother? He might as well get a first-hand look at crazy if he was asking for a one-way ticket on her crazy train.
“Hopefully, just a missing person.”
His answered piqued her interest. She hadn’t had a good case in a month.
“Although I’m really here about your other ‘ability,’” he said making air quotations with his fingers, as if her ability was as imaginary as unicorns, the tooth fairy, and the unopened bottle of scotch in her desk drawer. She’d been tempted to offer him a shot to loosen his lips. At the rate he was talking, he’d eventually get to his problem by the end of next week.
“My other ability?” she asked, and her interest went from piqued to guarded quicker than a kid being released the last day of school before summer break. She had other abilities, but only a few select friends and family members knew what they entailed. This guy didn’t qualify as either. Someone was getting a voodoo doll commissioned in their honor. Cara clicked off the recorder.
“Yeah, you know. The one where you touch people or things and get flashes of their life.”
She knew, but how did he? Her affable smile from minutes ago slipped as she pegged him with her gaze. “Who did you say recommended me?”
“Eric Cruz, my brother. Well, technically, he’s my half-brother. His mom, my dad…”
“Um….” Cara pressed her lips together, biting back the words she wanted to say. Fuck you, get out of my office, and tell that sorry sack of shit, asshole-from-hell brother of yours to take a flying leap…were just a few. Her clasped fingers turned white as she tried to contain the anger bubbling inside that was on the verge of breaking free. Most days she was a professional, but that name had her sprouting imaginary horns. She should send him packing. Would a kick in the ass, to pass along to his brother, be unladylike? “I’m sorry. I can’t help you.”
“He said you’d say that. He actually said you’d say a lot worse, and told me not to bother, but I’m desperate. We’re desperate.” His wild blue eyes searched hers. “Please, don’t turn me away because of what Eric did.”
Cara held up her hand and rose from the chair. Any more mention of that name and he was getting a first-rate show. Stuff would be thrown; hexes would be made, and she would personally toss his ass out of her office…from the window. Screw trying to maintain an adult demeanor. Her shrink would charge overtime, and she’d need bail money, but it would be worth it.
Psychic medium Quinn Thatcher would never be classified as normal. Just ask her mother. Her people-pleasing skills could use some work, which is why Quinn prefers working with the dead over the living. Ghosts take her as she is, but when people experience Quinn’s sharp tongue and sassy attitude, there is no in between. They either love her or want to throw her off the nearest bridge, with the latter being more typical. Good thing she knows how to swim.
When a Scottish ghost invades her home and insists she resolve his earthly issues, banishing his ghostly presence becomes priority number one, and a battle of wills and wits ensues until she ultimately agrees.
Her task is easy enough. Return a gem to its rightful owner and then return home, minus the aggravating ghost. Quinn should know things are never as easy as they seem.
Scottish laird Collin Menzie has lived through his share of problems and is still currently dealing with the aftermath of a fire that nearly destroyed his ancestral home. When a beautiful American shows up to return his emerald, her presence starts an unavoidable collision course, in which he questions not only his destiny but also hers.
When dealing with an annoying ghost, an emerald worth a small fortune, and a sexy-as-hell Highlander, what could possibly go wrong? Quinn is about to find out just how deadly the combination can be.

Thank you for having me today. I’m thrilled that Unexpected Destiny has released!
These assassins have really gotten a hold on me. I can’t wait till they all have their happily ever after. How did I get here, giving happy endings to assassins?
Initially I was looking to find love for a bad boy. Assassins aren’t usually the hero. They’re the villain. But I wanted to change all that. These four men came to me almost instantly. In no time, I had bits of each of their stories. I knew I had to write it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly on these men who want to save the lives of those who can’t get the help they so desperately need, whose lives are in immediate danger.
Now that I’ve pulled that string, I see a whole mess of stories. Once I tell the stories of these four men, more will come. Great things are in store. I can’t wait to experience it all. <3
Unexpected Destiny
Assassins and Sweethearts Series
by S.J. Maylee
Contemporary Erotic Romantic Suspense
ISBN: 978-1-77233-978-9
Book Description:
Elizabeth Martin thought she had her happily ever after, until her husband mysteriously disappeared. Aidan Clery is a skilled assassin-for-hire who wants nothing more than to find the love of his life. Fate throws Liz in his path and everything is perfect, except Aidan just won the contract on her life.
The truth surrounding Liz’s estranged husband takes the pair on a dangerous journey. Nothing in their lives will ever be the same. Destiny may be unexpected but it will be up to Aidan and Liz to discover the truth and claim their real happily ever after.
Aidan turned off the faucet and caught the reflection of those gorgeous brown eyes in the mirror.
“Oops. Wrong door,” said his girl as she turned around.
“I can share.” He could handle the surveillance later. This woman deserved his attention.
She stopped and turned around. “Okay then.” She took a step toward him. “You know what? I should have asked for confirmation earlier.” Her gaze was full of mischief.
“You’re right. You should have asked.” He took a hold of her hand and pulled her close. “I sure would like to see that tiny scrap of lace.” And just like that his night got infinitely better.
She stopped her forward movement when their chests were a mere inch apart. A nice rosy blush heated her cheeks. He kept hold of her hand while her other played with the lapel of his dark leather jacket. “I can’t believe I’m doing this.”
“You need to get back to your friends?”
“Yes, but…” She licked her bottom lip. “Maybe I could stay here for a few minutes.”
“At least a few.” He tapped the bottom of her chin. “How about you start by telling me your name?”
“Liz.” Her gaze met his and he wanted time to stop. Something about the lonely look in her eyes called to him to not let her get away. She shifted closer. “Who are you?”
He pushed his finger over her waistband, rubbing her hipbone. “I’m Aidan.” He squeezed the hand he still held. Her soft body relaxed against his.
“I should probably go. I need to get my friends home.”
“I don’t think you should go anywhere.” He brushed his nose against hers.
A delicious moan slipped from her lips. “I don’t want to leave but I need to make sure they get home safely.”
“It’s nice of you to look out for them.” Damn, she smelled good. It was lilacs or roses or something.
“I’d rather stay here with you.” She leaned in and their lips almost met. “My friends are always right. I should have gone out with them months ago.”
“Stay a few more minutes.” He caressed over her hips to her round ass. Hot tension filled his thoughts. Forget a few more minutes, he’d take all night and then some to explore this beautiful woman.
“More.” She scraped her teeth over her bottom lip.
A second later, the door opened. “Lizzy, we got to go. Emily isn’t feeling well.”
She dropped her head to his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around her.
“Oh, I’m so sorry, Lizzy.” The woman held the door open. “You’re right. He is cute. Bring him with you. Emily won’t mind.”
“She’ll be right out,” he said. Once the friend left the bathroom, he brushed her hair behind her shoulders and stroked her back.
“I feel like I’m cursed.”
“You and me both, sweetheart.” He didn’t let her go.
“Well.” She looked up at him from under her long, dark lashes. “It’s not what I had in mind but would you help me with my friends?” The soft tone of her voice had him imagining how she’d purr if he made her come. “I think I might be the only one sober and they can be a bit much to wrangle into a cab. They live north in Edgewater and then we could do something, maybe go back to my place.” She worried her poor bottom lip once more.
“I’d like that.” He squeezed her ass. “Sure. I’ll help, Lizzy.” He tugged on her hair. Then he’d help himself to more of her.
Praise for the first book in the Assassins and Sweethearts Series
Desire Unexpected:
5 stars from Cocktails and Books: “Their love for each other was very fierce, and when they began to have sex, it goes completely off the charts. Their love scenes were intense and oh, so hot! They had feeling of a kind of desperation to them. They’ve found what they were looking for in each other, and they’re clinging to it with everything they had.”
4 Hearts from Sizzling Hot Reads: “It had the hot steamy sex scenes but also the mystery behind the group Ethan belonged too. I look forward to more from the Assassins and Sweethearts series.”
4 stars from Redz World Reviews: “over all this is a great start to what promises to be a good series”

When I’m not writing, I’m probably at Starbucks, or fighting evil with the help of my husband, two children, and our houseful of animals.
Tessa swallowed, the heat from Archer’s touch sizzling through her. Milo’s hand slid to the back of her hair as if he wanted his own turn running his fingers through it. He caressed her hair gently, and she nearly moaned in pleasure.
This was a bad idea. A voice in her head kept saying it. But an even louder voice seemed to be kicking that little voice’s ass. Maybe the timing wasn’t ideal, but she was tired of holding back and putting up walls. She’d tried for so long not to let anyone get close enough to hurt her. Maybe it was time to just let everything go, just let herself go, even if it was only for one night.
“I uh, I mean, I’ve seen just about every emotion on your faces tonight. Anger, concern … desire? At least I think this is what desire looks like.”
“In case you’re unsure, let me clear things up for you.” Milo pulled her up so she stood in front of him. Even though she thought of herself as big, she felt dwarfed next to Milo.
When he leaned into her, her first instinct was to pull away, but Archer had backed up against her, cutting off any escape route. She began to wonder if the two of them had done this together before. They were gentle, but both of them held her firmly enough, making it clear she wasn’t going anywhere.
The heat from their bodies made Tessa’s heart pound and her entire lower half throb. It had been a long time since she’d felt this way. Archer’s hands rested lightly on her waist as he leaned in to nuzzle her hair. Milo’s big hand cupped her cheeks, his thumb rubbing sexy little circles. She swallowed hard, and suddenly found it difficult to breathe. Ever so slowly, he reached up to slide her glasses off. He folded them and handed them to Archer who placed them on the bedside table.
“What are you doing?” she managed to croak.
His hands immediately returned to cup her face, tilting her head up until her eyes met his. Those blue eyes had taken on a smoky tint, and she felt a shudder go through her body as she saw herself reflected in them.
“This. We’re doing this.” He bent his head slowly, giving her time to stop him, time to say no. But she didn’t want to stop him.

Blurb:
Where there’s smoke, there’s dragon fire.
Ordinary girl. Extraordinary fate.
Violet Winters is having a less than perfect day. Her
parents are meddling with her love life (again), her wintery magic is kaput and
her vivid dreams are coming far too close to reality. When she falls through
the ice after seeing her fiancé all close and snuggly with a fellow polar bear,
all bets are off. Is she better off dead or will she get another chance at life
when a Grimare angel rescues her from her chosen fate?
Fire meets ice and passions ignite.
Dante is a dragon on a mission: fight the string of strange
fires springing up around Westmore and find a mate. When his Captain decides to
have the men pose for social media shots to garner attention for the station,
Dante finds himself in the middle of a steady stream of women after his special
strategically placed “fire hose.”
At Hot Whips Café to haggle with the owner for counter space
for their new firemen calendar, he meets a woman who sets his inner scales on
fire. Can he save her from the machinations of the Fates or will she die a
second time by the very threat Dante fights against?
A dragon’s panty melting kiss may just be the wow this curvy
girl needs.
“Come on, Dante, show us a little leg.” The smirking
photographer circled in front of him and it was all Dante could do to control
the dragon scraping beneath his skin to avoid reaching out and shoving the
camera up his ass.
Pictures for social media. The Captain had officially lost
his fucking mind. The catcalls and male laughter from the rest of the guys made
him lose his footing and the fire hose he’d been using as a prop to conceal his
nakedness began to slip.
“Jesus. Fix that hose. This isn’t internet porn, you know.”
The Captain groused, scowling.
Dante scrambled to catch the hose and cover himself and
balanced against the newly washed and waxed fire engine, trying to pretend he
was anywhere else but standing like a prize bull at an auction.
“If you’ll hold still, please. The others have already
contributed their shots. You’re the last one.” The cameraman huffed, turning
the lens. He lowered the camera and glared at Dante. “You could smile maybe?”
Shit. He was distracted by the wacked out dream he’d had the
night before. A woman he’d never met swam in front of him, dying. Her long
black hair fanned out in the cold, dark water and he’d panicked. He’d told her
to live.
“Fine.” Dante growled, a wisp of smoke curling out from
behind his lips. He felt the change sliding beneath his skin, the dragon
agitated by his distress.
“God, Dante. Come on.” Carter laughed. “You aren’t afraid of
a little flashing light, are you?” The rest of the crew laughed, sharing in the
good natured ribbing.
“Bastard.”
He just wanted it to be over. His beast wanted to fly and
hunt and if he didn’t get out of here soon, he was going to lose his mind. Most
of the men here were either dating or married. He wasn’t and the urge to mate
had made his already bad temper even worse.
The Captain had lured him and the others in with the promise
of a social media boost to help the department. He figured a couple of pictures
for Instagram like that vet that had so many followers it was insane. Model
pretty with a gaggle of women trailing behind him like no tomorrow. The guy had
even been on national television recently. Cap was dreaming, but he also knew
the man would do anything to save their department from going strictly
volunteer.
So many in the country had gone that route and the bear
shifter was fighting it tooth and claw. Dante supported that. He’d moved from
his home in the mountains to come here after his buddy Carter had told him
about the job. Happy and with a large family of cat and dragon shifter young,
his friend would do anything to ensure things stayed status quo. So would he,
and apparently that included standing naked in front of a freshly polished
firetruck.
Thank God his mother couldn’t see him or he’d never hear the
end of it. She’d been writing him emails nonstop asking if he’d met any
promising women. Jesus. He’d never seen a woman more eager to fuss over
grandchildren. But he hadn’t and the prospects didn’t look very favorable. Not
that he hadn’t dated. He had. But no female he’d met even sparked his interest past
the typical curves and tight jeans and it wasn’t enough. Not anymore.
He wanted a mate. Someone to come home to and warm his bed
and his heart. Most of the women he’d come across only wanted one thing—to bang
a fireman and brag to their friends.
“Well, that’s about as good as I’m going to get if you’re
going to scowl like that.” The photographer capped his lens and sighed,
stalking off toward the Captain. “You can get dressed now.”
“Jerk.” Dante swiped the robe he’d worn from the floor and
shrugged into it.
“Man, you really need to learn to crack a smile, buddy.”
Carter grinned as he and a few of the others approached now that the
photographer had gone.
“Thank you, guys. Dante.” The Captain came forward giving
Dante a narrow eyed look, then nodded toward the remainder of the group. “We
should see the finished product in a day or so.”
Wait. Product?

As some of you now know (thank you for subscribing to my newsletter (http://eepurl.com/01Eef) ! Sign up today if you haven’t already!) I have decided to self-publish a couple of books. This isn’t something that I took too quickly, in fact it’s something I’ve agonized over for a while now.
As you all know I once wrote as Honor James. I was with another publisher and wrote a series called Knights of Ares. I loved these men and when I left the publisher I thought that I would lose them forever. I couldn’t do that however, but part of me needed a fresh start as well.
So….
All six books of the Knights of Ares series have been re-written (I only saved the names of the men because they were so close to my heart) and I’m going to self-publish the series. I hadn’t intended on this series coming out yet – however I guess I uploaded it far too soon to the retailers and boom, here it is!
So, without further ado here is the first book of the series.
The Knights of Ares are a joint Navy SEAL and Army Ranger team that has been tasked with a new war. One that needs to be kept from being discovered, at all costs.
Mikhail “Wolf” Rossov and Gareth “Gunner” Gruffyd are part of the team that are fighting a war no one knows is happening. Out on the job, they end up saving a woman who turns out to be more than they could have believed.
Morgan Berry is a kindergarten teacher. The most dangerous part of her job is a wide spread flu epidemic in her class. Being a teacher is all she’s ever wanted, she never thought she’d soon be part of something bigger.
Kidnapped to become a pawn in a dangerous, violent game, Morgan has only one hope. For her men to come to her rescue, before it’s too late. She knows that they would walk through the fires of hell for her. But will they make it in time?
Doris O’Connor and Kacey Hammell Who critiqued the book before I sent it for edits (thank you, Doris!)
Rhonda Butterball – Thank you for being you!
And last but most certainly NOT LEAST!!
Moira Callahan Who was there for me while I waffled on what I wanted to do with this series. Seriously, Moira, love ya lots lady and you are really my best friend and I’m so freaking grateful to have you in my life!
—
PS – this does NOT mean that I’m no longer writing for Evernight Publishing, I am. I have several books slated in the “coming soon” area of Evernight and I’m working on more for them. These six books however will be self-published.

Now, how about a couple of excerpts? Mmmm I love reading a little about the books, don’t you?
It was good to be back on American soil. While he thought of himself as more Russian than American, America had been his home for all his life and would always be home.
Stepping out of the steam from the bathroom, he finished toweling off as he padded into the locker room. Nodding to his teammates who were scattered around in various states of undress, he grabbed up a pair of jeans and pulled them on.
Three weeks since their mission to extract the CIA operative from Greece without anyone, official or not, the wiser. While it hadn’t been smooth, they’d gotten in and out without alerting anyone that they’d ever been there. Bad guys notwithstanding of course.
Buttoning up his fly, Mik crammed his feet into a pair of boots. Grabbing his shirt, he hauled it on before dropping to sit on the bench to do up his boots.
They’d been in various meetings and sessions to debrief since they’d gotten out of Greece with the operative. All they knew about her was her code name for the op, Sugar. Not exactly fitting given the venom she’d directed their way the entire flight out of the country and then back to the States. But then again, she hadn’t looked all that happy before they’d met her so, really, who was he to judge.
What her mission had been in the country he couldn’t say. But since they were, currently, on friendly terms with Greece, who the fuck knew. Especially when it came to the spooks. Those guys just loved to root around in the darkest of corners looking for enemies and, if they couldn’t find one, making new ones.
Getting to his feet, he stomped them a little to settle the boots in place. Just as he grabbed his leather jacket, the door into the locker room crashed open and four MP’s came in.
“Sorry, sirs. The Admiral has requested your presence, immediately.”
Shooting his team mates a look Mik knew it wasn’t an actual “request.” No one, an Admiral especially, needed four heavily armed MP’s to pass on a “request”. No, it was an order that if not obeyed, he would bet the MPs had very specific and detailed instructions about what to do.
Shrugging into his jacket, he leaned against his locker as his cohorts got dressed. Not a one of them in any apparent rush. While the MPs had said immediately, and he was sure the Admiral had meant yesterday, they weren’t really going to just give in. That wasn’t how a one of them was made. He watched his fellow team members as they all seemed to gravitate into their duos, as usual. He wasn’t surprised when Gareth shot him a small crooked grin. The men weren’t couples, but they all worked together very well and at least where he and Gareth were concerned, shared women more often than not.
Rubbing a hand over his mouth, he hid his smirk as James “Fury” Ashton asked one of their team, Anton “Viper” Lueger, which shirt went with his eyes better. Always pushing the envelope that one. Catching the look on the MP’s faces and the way they were fiddling with their sidearms, he cleared his throat. Catching everyone’s attention he gave them a couple of signals out of sight of the MPs.
It got everyone moving faster. If a bunch of highly trained military cops were that twitchy, something big was going down. No need to provoke them more than absolutely necessary.
Leaving the locker room as a unit, they all shared a look. No one had a clue what was going on and not a one liked it. Especially since they’d all just been told they had three weeks leave. Which, in their minds, meant they got to leave, no questions asked. Not good.
* * * * *
Twenty minutes later Mikhail could not believe how fucking right he’d been. “Excuse me, sir. I mean zero disrespect, sir, but are you off your fucking rocker?” he asked.
His teammates all nodded. Yeah, every single one of them had been thinking it. He was just the craziest of the bunch to actually say it out loud. But it was part of his rep, and he so did love to live up to his rep.
“I wish,” the old man said. He rubbed a hand over his military regulation cut and looked at them all.
Mik couldn’t believe how old the Admiral looked right then. Sharing a worried look with Marius, he shook his head. “Sir, this is crazy. I might buy that Marius might believe in the Greek Gods, growing up as he had, but coming from you,” he shook his head again. “I’m sorry sir, but I’m not buying it.”
“You’d better,” a new voice said. One that was deep, bowels of hell deep, and sent a shiver down every man’s spine.
Spinning Mikhail stared up, yeah up, at seven and a half feet of solid muscle covered in leather. Holy shit, where the fuck had this guy come from?
“Olympus by way of Athens,” the large male said. He turned his blacker than night eyes to the Admiral. “Andrew, sorry I’m late. Had a small family matter to attend to.”
“No apologies needed, come on in and grab a seat. I think I’ll let you tell them the rest of this, as they don’t seem to be taking me seriously.”
The large man chuckled and, not kidding, Mikhail could have sworn the room actually pitched and rolled like the deck of a battleship on high seas.
“They are trained to believe what they can see, hear and touch, Andrew. Of course, they are not going to just take you at your word,” the male said. He walked around them all, he was light on his feet too, and took the seat that the Admiral had offered.
Shooting Marius a look, he saw the same WTF expression he was sure was on his face. The guy was on a first name basis with the Admiral and seemed to be buying into the same delusion, too. This would be interesting to hear.
“It’s not a delusion, Mikhail,” the guy said. “The Greek Gods are real, all of us.”
“So, we’re to believe you’re one?” Meirion “Saber” Jamison asked.
“Yes,” the male told them.
“Right,” Thomas “Brick” Gordon drawled out in his Southern manner. “Which one, just so we keep it all straight and shit?” he asked.
The Admiral looked like he was either going to shit himself or be sick. Not a look one expected of a career military man who’d been through more wars than most could lay claim to. And all on the front lines for the most part.
“Ares,” the male said.
“God of War,” Stefan “Orion” Patras said softly. “Son of Zeus and Hera.”
“Bingo,” the big male said. “Got it in one. Which, considering your heritage, I’d be truly miffed if you hadn’t.”
Shooting his Greek teammate a look, Mik shook his head. “Okay, I have a question, if we’re all going to play along with this delusion.”
“It’s no delusion and yes, the Gods are real.” Ares, or whoever the fuck he was, got up from his chair. He pushed it out of the way and settled with his feet spread so they were right under his shoulders.
A flash of light and they were staring at the guy in full battle regalia. As in, ancient armor with one hell of a big ass sword in hand, tip to the floor. Oddly enough, the guy even seemed bigger.
And he was walking straight toward Mik.
Standing his ground Mikhail notched his chin up to keep eye contact with the guy. Which was a lot harder than he’d thought now that they guys eyes were silver swirling pools, much like a whirlpool, trying to suck him in.
“Military men are always the hardest to convince,” the God, or whoever he was, said. Then he smiled, perfectly straight white teeth no less, and lifted a hand. “Let’s see if I can’t convince you, shall we?”
Mik would have protested, but he wasn’t quick enough. The Gods’ hand landed on his shoulder and suddenly he was being torn apart and then rebuilt molecule by molecule. He saw the beginning of the world, Zeus’s creation of man, the “birth” of the other Gods and times in history that even scientists and the best historians could only make educated guesses on. He saw battlefields where the God before him was in the thick, covered in blood and other bodily gore.
He watched as cities burned, crumbling into dust, and civilizations fell. He watched the march of the Roman empire across Europe and their eventual retreat. Cities rose, fell, changed, grew and then technology began to come into sight. Then they were back in the room, in the present and he was staring up into a pair of swirling silver eyes.
The hand on his shoulder squeezed before falling away. “Believe now?” the deep voice asked softly.
Stumbling back Mikhail groped for a chair and fell into one when it was close enough. Shivering he couldn’t tear his eyes off the guy. “What the fuck?” he asked.
Ares just nodded. “Good. Now we’re getting somewhere.” Another flash and he was back in his leather striding back to the head of the table to sit down once more. “Gentlemen, sit,” he told the rest of the team. “We have a lot to discuss and very little time.”
He could feel the worried eyes of his teammates on him, but he couldn’t say anything. His mind was still fighting to resolve all he’d just witnessed and make sense of it. And he was failing miserably.
