I admit, I went and saw Mortal Instruments at the theater when it came out, and then I was bummed when a second movie wasn’t forthcoming. So when I heard it was being made into a television show, I decided to give it a chance. Now the downside is that they’ve started over with book one. The movie, in my opinion, was much better. That being said, I’m enjoying the show and will probably continue to watch it, but I’m not hooked to the point I’ll be upset if I miss an episode or two.

I did read all of the books but the last one before I went to see the movie, so I knew what to expect. Or I thought I did. As always, the books are way better than the movie or the show, but I think they’ve done a nice job with them. If you’re watching the show and you haven’t read the books, definitely read at least the first one.
